My Hero Academia Hypes Final Return with New Sneak Peek

Between Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and My Hero Academia's manga all having concluded, and even Black Clover approaching its finale, it's truly the end of an era for Shonen Jump. However, unlike its peers, whose anime have yet to catch up, My Hero Academia's anime has long caught up with its finale, having wrapped up its eighth and final season back in December 2025.
With no sequel to speak of, anime and manga fans alike have had little to look forward to, that is, except for "More," the OVA set to release on May 2, 2026. Announced at Jump Festa 2026 as part of the anime's 10th anniversary celebrations, this bonus episode is set to adapt the additional epilogue chapter bundled into the final volume of My Hero Academia. And, with just a week to go until its release, My Hero Academia has given fans a new sneak peek at its true and final epilogue.
My Hero Academia Hypes Its Final Episode With New Teaser
My Hero Academia's official social handles dropped a new trailer for the upcoming bonus episode dubbed Episode #170+1 "More" earlier today, which is set to premiere in Japan on May 2, 2026, at 5:30 PM JST, or 4:30 AM EST. The OVA will be available to stream on Crunchyroll, joining the rest of the franchise in its entirety.

As expected and seen in the trailer, the episode will be adapting Chapter #431 of the same name, giving fans a glimpse into the adult lives of Deku and the rest of his fellow U.A. classmates. Although Episode #170 and its credits did briefly reveal plenty of the adulthood versions of the main cast and Class 1-A, as well as what they'd gotten up to since graduating, the OVA episode is expected to dive into greater detail.
Fans can also expect to see more of other pro-heroes, such as Mirio, Hawks, and Aizawa, and receive more closure on unresolved plot threads, such as Deku and Ochaco's relationship, controversial as the latter's resolution may be. More importantly, the bonus episode will also give fans a chance to see Class 1-A in action together one last time, perhaps making it easier to bid the series and its beloved characters farewell for good.
My Hero Academia Still Needs More Bonus Content
As beautiful as the ending to My Hero Academia was, there's no doubt that the series certainly needed an epilogue to wrap things up neatly, and Episode #170+1 will be doing just that. After all, over the last decade, My Hero Academia has established a cast so vast and vibrant that it would not have been possible to touch on every single character and their respective journeys throughout the series in a single final episode, even with a post-credit montage.
That said, there's no denying that My Hero Academia still has room for more beyond "More," whether that's in the form of additional OVAs, a new movie, or even a new spin-off surrounding Class 1-A written by Horikoshi himself. Nothing has been announced or set in stone just yet, but there's no doubt the bonus episode will still leave fans hoping for more.
