Justice Lisa Gill Sworn In As First Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice

Vijayawada: Justice Lisa Gill was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at a formal ceremony held at the Lok Bhavan lawns in Vijayawada on Saturday. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer administered the oath of office in the presence of dignitaries and senior officials.

Justice Lisa Gill is the first woman Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Her appointment marks an important development in the state's judicial administration, amid expectations of strengthening the justice delivery system.

The programme began with Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad initiating the proceedings. The Registrar General of the Andhra Pradesh High Court read out the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India, formally appointing Justice Lisa Gill to the top judicial post in the state. Special Chief Secretary to the Governor G. Anantha Ramu presided over the event.

The ceremony was attended by First Lady Sameera Nazeer, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, Members of Parliament Kesineni Shivanath (Chinni) and Sana Satish Babu, and MLC P. Anuradha. Judges of the High Court, registrars and several judicial officers were also present.

Senior officials, including Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta, principal secretary (Protocol) J. Syamala Rao, Vijayawada police commissioner S.V. Rajasekhara Babu and NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha, attended the programme along with other dignitaries.
