Mr Lahiri is a seasoned policymaker and has earlier served as India's 12th Chief Economic Adviser. He was also a member of the 15th Finance Commission and has held senior positions at international institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He has also been associated with leading academic and policy institutions, including the Delhi School of Economics, the Asian Development Bank, and the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy.
