New Delhi, Apr 20 (PTI) The Delhi government is planning a Rs 200 crore Prime Minister Unity (Ekta) Mall in Pitampura’s Dilli Haat under the Centre’s One District One Product initiative, to create a national platform for artisans, local products, cuisine, art and cultural traditions, an official document said.

The project will be developed by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and will have 36 stalls for states and Union Territories, with one stall each for districts of the respective states, along with a food court.

Public conveniences, parking facilities, exhibition spaces, cultural activity zones and dedicated areas for events, summits and conferences will also be made, a tender document said.

It said the Unity Mall is being designed as a blend of local architecture and modern facilities to strengthen the Make in India and ODOP concepts, help rural artisans sell their products on a larger platform and preserve local handicrafts, cuisine, literature, culture and traditions.

The proposed project area will cover a minimum of 1,200 square metres and is expected to come up tentatively at the existing Dilli Haat Pitampura premises, although the final location will be decided by the Delhi government. Similar projects are being implemented in several other states under the scheme, it said.

The DTTDC has floated a request for proposal for the selection of an architect consultant who will prepare the conceptual plan, conduct surveys, develop the sketch design, prepare the detailed project report (DPR), cost estimates and working drawings, and assist in securing approvals from agencies such as MCD, NDMC, Delhi Fire Services and DUAC, it read.

According to the tender, the consultant will also be required to present the project before the Centre, the state government and the DTTDC board, prepare 3D views and presentation drawings, and support implementation from the conceptual stage to completion.

The consultancy period has been fixed at 36 months or until the completion of the entire project, with an estimated cost of the project of Rs 200 crore, it stated.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on April 23, it stated and added that the last date for submission of bid documents is April 28.

Presentations by shortlisted agencies have been scheduled for April 30, according to the tender document.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Centre allocated Rs 5,000 crore for establishing the PM Ekta Malls in states, which aim to showcase local products and handicrafts, including items under the One District, One Product scheme. PTI SHB SHB APL APL
