Civil Services still relevant, says former Kerala Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar

Former Kerala Chief Secretary and Travancore Devaswom Board president K. Jayakumar has said that as a former civil servant, he feels the Civil Services are still relevant as the government agenda of development and social justice remain incomplete in the country. "The Civil Service in India continues to enjoy a place of primacy," he said.

Mr. Jayakumar was delivering the keynote address on the relevance of the Civil Services in changing times, life in the Civil Services, and qualities required to become a successful bureaucrat after inaugurating a two-day The Hindu Civil Service Gateway 2026 at Jimmy George Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.
