You should look for at least a few good hospitals close to where you live or work. If your favourite hospital isn't part of the network, you might have to choose reimbursement over cashless treatment. This could make it tougher to get money in an emergency and add extra stress.
Says Rajendra Upadhyaya, CEO, Choice Insurance: "In India, cashless claims are becoming more and more common nowadays. They make up a large part of health insurance claims. But this benefit is only available at network hospitals, and even then, the experience can be different. A hospital that actively supports cashless processes can make a big difference by cutting down on paperwork, speeding up approvals, and easing financial stress at the time of admission. On the other hand, when you need help the most, delays in approvals or a lack of coordination can make things harder."
